Understanding INSiGHT™ Scans at LUMINOUS Chiropractic

A Simple Guide for Parents

At LUMINOUS Chiropractic, we know your child’s health is about so much more than symptoms. While traditional medicine often waits until symptoms appear and uses tests like MRIs or bloodwork to look for obvious problems, we take a different approach.

We use state-of-the-art technology called INSiGHT™ Scans to measure the function of your child’s nervous system — the “control center” for their entire body. This technology gives us a clear picture of how well your child’s brain and body are communicating, even before symptoms show up.

Why the Nervous System Matters So Much

Your child’s nervous system controls everything — from movement and digestion to emotions, sleep, and focus. It’s made up of three main parts:

  • Sensory system – gathers information from inside and outside the body

  • Autonomic system – runs everything automatically (breathing, digestion, sleep, immune system, etc.)

  • Motor system – sends instructions from the brain to the rest of the body

If the nervous system isn’t working at its best, it can show up as colic in a baby, tantrums in a toddler, sensory challenges in a preschooler, or anxiety and attention struggles in an older child.

That’s why the INSiGHT Scans are so valuable — they help us see where stress and tension are stuck in the nervous system so we can help restore balance and function.

How the INSiGHT Scans Work

Think of your child’s nervous system like the electrical wiring in your home. If there’s too much stress in one area, it can “blow a fuse” and cause problems in other areas. The INSiGHT Scans help us see exactly where the tension is, how severe it is, and how it’s affecting your child’s overall health.

We run three types of scans:

1. NeuroThermal Scan

This measures temperature patterns along the spine to see how the autonomic nervous system is regulating things like digestion, immunity, and hormones.
It’s especially helpful for children dealing with issues like:

  • Colic or reflux

  • Constipation

  • Chronic ear infections

  • Allergies or asthma

  • Sleep struggles

2. NeuroSpinal EMG Scan

This scan measures how much energy and tension is stuck in your child’s muscles. If the muscles along the spine are too tight or imbalanced, it means the nervous system is working too hard or is out of sync.

Common findings include:

  • “Gas pedal stuck” (Raging Bull) – too much fight-or-flight activity, often seen with hyperactivity, anxiety, and trouble sleeping.

  • Coordination/focus challenges (Drunken Bull) – difficulty with balance, posture, motor skills, and attention.

  • Both patterns together – a nervous system that’s both overactive and uncoordinated.

3. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) Scan

This measures how well your child’s body adapts to stress. A healthy nervous system can switch easily between “go mode” and “rest mode.” If it’s stuck in high alert or worn out, it affects everything from mood and focus to immune strength and recovery.

Why This Matters for Your Child

Without these scans, it’s easy to miss hidden stress in the nervous system. Symptoms may be treated one by one, but the underlying cause — a stressed, imbalanced nervous system — is still there.

At LUMINOUS Chiropractic, the INSiGHT Scans give us the full picture so we can:

  • Create a personalized care plan for your child

  • Track progress over time

  • Show you real, measurable changes as their nervous system calms and balances

When the nervous system is clear and connected, your child’s body can heal, grow, and function the way it’s designed to — and that’s when we see amazing changes in health, behavior, sleep, focus, and overall happiness.

In short: The INSiGHT Scans aren’t just “extra tests” — they are the foundation for truly understanding and improving your child’s health. At LUMINOUS Chiropractic, they’re how we make sure we’re not guessing about your child’s care — we’re measuring, tracking, and helping their body work at its very best.
